Comparison of Cardiac Output Calculation by Manual and Analogue Computer Methods*
From the Long Island Jewish Hospital, Cardio-Pulmonary Unit and the Department of Medicine, New Hyde Park, New York, U.S.A.
Authors' Synopsis: An analogue computer was used to calculate cardiac output from dye dilution curves. Very close agreement was obtained between manual calculations by the Stewart-Hamilton and automatically computed values. Approximately 20 min per determination was saved by using the computer. Curves which did not exhibit logarithmic decay of indicator concentration were detected by the computer.
