Authors' Synopsis: Ouabain given intravenously to normal subjects in therapeutic doses (0·5 mg) had little effect on blood flow or venous tone in the forearm or hand. Comparable doses given into the brachial artery also had no consistent effect; much larger doses caused constriction of the resistance but not of the capacity vessels.
